Goodbye

Goodbye, New Zealand, Aotearoa, land of the long white cloud. I will miss you. It was good time, good two years, which passed so quickly. See you again! :)

 

Samoa

Back in New Zealand from Samoa. It was great time, real holiday :) Almost like from some catalogue of travel agency. Sunny, blue sky, crystal clear water, white sand...beatiful :)

I went with Honza, Eva and little Adamek (who is not little anymore, growing so fast). At the beginning I was a little afraid how it will work, but everything was alright :) We did literally nothing - except for sleeping, eating, swimming, laying on the beach and small trips around.

Last NZ trip (very likely)

On Sunday I went with one friend to probably last trip here in NZ. We went to Kaikoura, which is small town, but famous for seals and whales watching. We didn't go for whales watching (it is really expensive), but seals are there everywhere :)

Last day at work

Yesterday was my last day at work. After a year I finished at University of Canterbury. It was good year and I learnt a lot and I had nice colleagues. I will miss them - they gave me awesome "librarian" gift :)

Hanmer Springs

Last weekend I went to Hanmer Springs, which is small town cca two hours drive from Christchurch. It is really small, one main street, but it is famous for its mineral hotpools. And every year there is traditional winter salsa festival. So, I went there on Saturday morning, spent day dancing and on Sunday went to the hotpools.

Shopping

I bought the new things and I am really happy about them :) They are quite opposite, for different weather, but both were needed.

Late post again, but a lot of new news

I know that it has been again long time since my last post. But - it was really busy and a lot happened.

1st May for the second time

I want to have at least a little bit of feeling of first May - with all the cold weather and falling leaves. No tree in bloom.... so sending kisses to my family :-)

South of the South Island

As I promised, here are photos from last week, when I and one friend were travelling around south of the South Island - part of New Zealand I was missing. Except for one day with rain, it was quite beautiful sunny weather for autumn, but a little bit chilly and cold in the morning and evenings.

Long week trip

After the dance festival I took the whole week off from work (it was actually just two days of annual leave, because there were public holiday on Monday, Tuesday and Friday, so it was really short week). I went travelling with one friend around south of the South Island - the part of New Zealand I had been missing. And probably the most famous one, most of tracks and hikes are in that area. I am slowly going through all the photos, so another post will be here soon with more details and pictures :-)

Very belated post

I know that it has been a long long time. I am terrible, didnt have proper time to post something earlier. So, what happened from the last time.

Autumn

Autumn slowly came here. It is getting colder, last two days was raining and trees have almost lost their leaves. But few days ago on the way to work, it was beautiful dawn, pink clouds, sun and  rainbow. Here are some photos:

Christmas mood

Car trip

Yesterday one friend got a new car and he wanted to go for a ride, so I said yes. I thought that it will be maybe two hours trip, but we ended up having whole day trip. But it was nice :) we visited one town, which is known for steampunk culture, and then we went to view Moeraki boulders - famous natural boulders in a shape of ball.

Christchurch - new photos

On Saturday afternoon I went for a walk around Christchurch. It was lovely sunny day, refreshinf after the whole week of rain. And here are some photos :-)

Farewell for Johana

So, on Friday Johana went back to Czech Republic. She was here for 6 months, but her boyfriend is in CZ and she really miss him. After his visit here for Christmas, she decided to go back home. I will quite miss her, it was nice to have her here, speak Czech and she was keen to travel a lot :-)

Post-Valentine's post

I will not get dry maybe this year :-) I haven't got any kiss, but I was given a baked heart filled with chocolate :) It was so nice - one guy from salsa is a baker and they have a bakery with his wife. They are every week on Saturday farmers market. It maked my day :)

Valentine's day

Today is a Valentine's day. Even though that  I don't like it that much, I like much much more our first May, I have to say that today we had awesome suprise at work in the afternoon. One colleague (man) got a singing message from his partner.

Little bit from history of New Zealand

Tomorrow there is a public holiday - celebration of signing the Treaty of Waitangi. It is a founding document of New Zealand.

Abel Tasman Coast Track

On Friday afternoon I flew to Nelso, which is city on the North of South Island. Johana (my flatmate) and one other Czech girl were already there. We went directly to Marahau, which is at the beginning of Abel Tasman track. It is one the famousest places here in New Zealand. Deep forests, yellow beaches and clearest blue sea :-)

Just new post (lacking more fantasy today)

I was thinking about what to post now. Nothing much happened last few days. Just usual working week and some salsa dancing in the evening (even though that on Friday was really good :-))

Temple Basin, Arthur's pass

Yesterday, on Saturday, we went on a track with my flatmates. It was in Arthur's pass national park, to Temple Basin Track. I have to say that it was on of the hardest I have ever done.

To the Czech Republic and back again

It has been already a month since the last post. It is because I went back home for Christmas :-)

It was really nice. To see all my family, friends, be at home. Even thought that it was quite busy with all the visits, it was relaxing in the same way. It was hard to go back to NZ after three weeks at home.
