Wellington, Christchurch and a lot of dance

Tak to zase zacinam nejak flakat (I have no idea how to say this in English). It has already been three weeks since my last post. So, what happened since then...

I was in Wellington again :-) There was one-day conference in the National Library of New Zealand, focusing on digital resources for primary and secondary schools. And because part of Te Wananga o Aotearoa university is also secondary school and we are currently developing new e-learning strategy, my manager sent me there. It  was really funny in the morning at the Hamilton airport. The conference started at 9am, so I was supposed to fly from Hamilton at 7 in the morning. But - it was so foggy! You couldn't see to 10 meters. So, at first the flight was delayed, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, one hour... I still hoped that I would managed it on time, max missed one workshop. But at the end the flight was canceled and they arranged us coach to Auckland, which is an hour and half away from Hamilton and we flew from Auckland. I was in Wellington after 12 o'clock, missed the whole morning session of workshops. But the lady, who organized it, was really friendly and helpful, showed me everything and the afternoon sessions were also interesting. And on Friday evening I went to Salsadrome again after a long time. It was terrible at the beginning. I was not able to dance, couldn't follow well, was out of the rhythm...it was better at the end, but still I didn't have good feeling about myself. It was because there are almost no good dancers of salsa in Hamilton and I started to pick up bad habbits of the beginners. Nothing against beginners :-) I was also beginner. I stayed the whole weekend in Wellington, at Jan and Eva place. We went on a short trip to nearby park.

The following weekend was zouk congress in Christchurch (fot those who don't know zouk, check this: Kadu and Larissa). I went there with mixed feelings, I doubted about myself and my skills in dancing after the weekend in Wellington. But it was much much better :-) I shared accomodation with other people from Wellington. It was really intensive weekend - the workshops started at 10am, finished at 17pm, with 10 minutes break between each workshop. And every day there was a party till cca 1:30 at night. A lot of dancing, not much food (probably lost two kg), but everyone was in the good mood and friendly. I danced again with Robert, and as usuall it was quite nice. And also with other good dancers. I arrived home on Sunday evening, completely tired, but happy. And another congress is coming up :-) At the end of May there will be salsa congress in Wellington. Really looking forward to it.

And the last comment about dancing - I did belly dancing class last week. Probably I will go again this week. I don't want to actually do belly dancing, but it is good for flexibility and learning body isolation.
